Join Clean Miami Beach, Hotel South Beach, and Oceanic Global for a community beach cleanup in recognition of International Coastal Cleanup Day. The morning will begin with a yoga session before volunteers come together to clean the neighborhood and beach around 24th Street. Participants of all ages are welcome, with community service hours available.

Join MORAES at Darwin Beach for the 41st International Coastal Cleanup, the world’s largest one-day volunteer effort dedicated to protecting oceans and waterways. Participants will help remove marine debris from the local coastline while joining volunteers around the world in the fight against ocean pollution. This community cleanup is a hands-on opportunity to make a difference and protect South Florida’s coastal environment.

Held on select Sundays throughout the year, the series covers topics including oyster ecology, local history, and shell-based art, providing participants with opportunities to learn about and engage with South Florida’s coastal environment.

Miami WaterKeeper Kayak Clean-Up (Bird Monitoring)

Join Miami Waterkeeper and Miami EcoAdventures for a kayak clean-up focused on protecting South Florida’s coastal and mangrove habitats. Volunteers will help remove marine debris from the water while participating in citizen science bird monitoring around the island. Kayaks, paddles, PFDs, water, binoculars, and staff guidance are provided, and community service hours are available.

Flip the Switch: Sea Turtle Beach Cleanup Series

Join MORAES, Miami Beach Rising Above, and Loews Miami Beach Hotel for the “Flip the Switch” Sea Turtle Beach Cleanup Series, an evening dedicated to marine conservation, community engagement, and protecting South Florida’s sea turtles. Participants will take part in a beach cleanup while learning about marine debris, its impacts on sea turtle nesting, and best practices for coastal conservation. This hands-on event provides an opportunity for community members of all backgrounds to make a positive impact on Miami Beach alongside local conservation partners.
